I don’t know about you but there’s a lot of deleting going on in my inbox. I’m constantly bombarded with ‘buy this’, ‘register now’, and ‘this will change your life’ – the truth is, if I don’t see any value in something then it’s not going to get my attention, let alone a response.

When it comes to webinars I would rate gaining registrations as VERY HIGH on the importance scale. For most of us, sending invitation emails is the perfect way to market an online event – a summary of the topic, key learning points, a brief bio, and a click to register = done!

But how often do we think about our webinar topic? It will ultimately create your email subject line and needs to be catchy, short, and snappy to cut through the inbox.
Here are some tips for creating webinar topics that stick and get registrations.

Ask the question

We all love to ponder now and then. Using the words how, why, and when resonate with people and will get them thinking about their learning objectives. Consider the following:
Topic a: Creating employee training programs that work
Topic b: How effective are your employee training programs?

Use numbers

Be upfront and let people know what they’re going to walk away with. People love numbers and lists – they spark curiosity and will increase click-throughs.

Topic a: Creating employee training programs that work
Topic b: 7 Ways to increase employee engagement

Be negative

Yes we know, positivity is preferred – but trust us, this works! Reversing your topics will grab the attention of your audience – consider the following:

Topic a: Creating employee training programs that work
Topic b: How to not create employee training programs

As well as trying out the tips above always remember to test your webinar topics and subject lines – every audience is different!
